Assists women in preparing for trades employment, registering as an apprentice, or gaining an Industry Training Authority (ITA) credential. Applicants must be underemployed or unemployed and may qualify for financial assistance (with tuition, texts, transportation, and daycare); there is different eligibility criteria. Office hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training.

Resume Development Courses & Programs
Provides free employment connection services for individuals in skilled trades. Eligibility includes individuals who are unemployed and non-employment insurance (EI) eligible; priority will be given to Indigenous individuals, immigrants, women, and youth (ages 15-29). Offers connection to employment opportunities for individuals with certifications in the skilled trades (construction-related) who are ready to work. Also helps eligible individuals connect to training courses or programs, obtain materials needed for work, and other connections to move skills towards apprenticeship and beyond. Services are based on the individual’s needs and can include job placement, workplace skills, job search assistance, and dedicated training courses. Funded by Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (MSDPR) as a WorkBC Employment Services and Supports (ESS) Program.

Mental Health First Aid Courses
Mental Health First Aid Canada (MHFA), sponsored by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, is a 12-hour training course delivered in 4 modules, carried out over 2 days. Participants will learn how to provide initial help to people who are showing signs of a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.
Serving it Right Course
This is a very accessible online course that takes approximately four hours. It costs $35 for the final exam, which you can attempt three times. This is a course that teaches you the limitations - both legal and physiological, that people can face when drinking alcohol in a drinking establishment. This certification is a legal requirement for anyone employed at a facility that sells alcohol & liquor. For this reason, it is very beneficial and allows for many opportunities.
Food Safe Course

This course is one that teaches you how to prepare & serve food in a safe, hygienic, allergy friendly way. It is offered both online and in-person through this website. Be aware that there is a cost of ____X___ associated with this course.
The benefit to this is that it shows that you want to, and are taking initiative to working in a kitchen safely. Many employers consider this certification to be mandatory if they are serving food at the establishment. This course is also very helpful in learning how to prepare and cook food properly if you are new to cooking. You will learn things like ideal thawing temperatures, types of food poisoning and risks of bacteria growth.
Traffic Control, Flagging
This comprehensive, two-day standardized course for Traffic Control Persons (TCP) consists of classroom and practical training and is the only program of its kind accepted by WorkSafe BC under Section 18 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation for high-risk traffic control. This two-day training session has been designed to qualify those who work as high-risk TCP's throughout the province of BC.
