Provides a co-ed emergency shelter that provides accommodation for men, women and children who are homeless; focus is to help homeless individuals and families find homes and supports in the community to help maintain stable housing. Outreach workers provide assistance in accessing other community resources when requested.
The centre consists of Emerald House and Emerald Hostel. Although the centre will provide emergency shelter to both men and women, two completely separate areas have been created to ensure all are safe. As with the other shelters, there will be a minimum barrier or "damp" shelter. There will be no clean time required before coming in for a bed; the centre will be recovery-friendly.
